about

This is the first song Peter and Linus P. has written together for This Ending. Linus N. helped to arrange it. This is another of the "nightmare" lyrics. But it can also be interpreted as the vicious circle when whatever you try to do and change the result always for some reason seems to end up the same.

lyrics

Always forced to meet this beast
In the darkest corners of our dreams
It thrives and grows
On our rotten souls

Lost in a wormhole
Sent from hell to hell
Ascending in this vault built on misery
A neverending spiral leading into the black
All is erased, Is it always this way?
Unable to remember, how it ended up this way
When everything is always turning out the same

Greeting darkness with the greatest of fears
A universal force that drains us of life
Feeding the monsters with the fear we share within
Soaking in our agony, bathing in our flesh

Building our tombs
Stone by stone filled with dread

They will arise, take mortal life
Beware the fears, they’ll take us there
Try to behold, and not be scared
Try to make sense of all that’s there
Nothing is real, it’s all for show
To make us bleed, and make them whole

Lost in a wormhole
Sent from hell to hell
Ascending in this vault built on misery
A neverending spiral leading into the black
All is erased, Is it always this way?

Lifting the veil
All horrors unraveled
All our minds can endure
This misery of ours
When we can see
Through our darkness
We can all tame the beast
Be what we need to be
